Solvent was evaporated and the residue was stirred in CH2Cl2 (100 ml) and washed with sat NaHCO3 (2*30 ml), brine (20 ml) and evaporated to an oil, which was purified by silica gel column (MeOH/CH2Cl2) to give 3-{4-[4-(6-Methoxy-3,4-dihydro-1,1-isoquinolin-2-ylmethyl)-benzyloxy]-1-oxo-1,3-dihydro-isoindol-2-yl}-piperidine-2,6-dione (0.26 g, 60% yield); mp, 169-171 C.
