To a slurry containing 710 mg (3.3 mmol) of 7-NITRO-1, 2,3, 4-TETRAHYDROISOQUINOLINE and 10 mL of THF at 0C was added 1.15 mL (8.3 MMOL) of triethylamine, followed by 0.25 mL (3.5 MMOL) of acetyl chloride. The reaction mixture was allowed to stir for 30 min, then diluted with ethyl acetate, washed with water and brine, and dried over MGS04.
