An effective approach to C1-difluoromethylated tetrahydroisoquinoline derivatives has been developed through C-H functionalization of tertiary amines by visible-light photoredox catalysis. This method uses stable, easily obtained alpha,alpha-difluorinated gem-diol as the CF2 source.
