A water-soluble beta-cyclodextrin polymer synthesized by crosslinking beta-cyclodextrin with epichlorohydrin and glycidyltrimethylammonium chloride allowed the stabilization of ruthenium nanoparticles not only in basic aqueous medium but also in acidic medium.
