The activity of reported salts I was evaluated competitively with that of known antiseptics, Octenidine Dihydrochloride and Chlorhexidine Digluconate. The effect of length of the alkyl substituent in the salts I on their biol. activity was established. These new compounds I are based on available pentaerythritol and 3-hydroxypyridine.
