The product S(-)1-phenyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro isoquinoline is treated with halosubstituted acetyl chlorides to obtain tetrahydro isoquinoline acetyl chloride which is further employed to synthesize acetamide derivatives of tetrahydro isoquinoline using various substituted aryl amines. The products were characterized by advanced spectroscopic techniques.
